How We Care for and Raise Our Puppies During Their First 8-10 Weeks

Our puppies are lovingly raised inside our home from the day they are born until the day they join your family. We take great care to provide each puppy with the best possible start and a strong foundation for life.

We begin with early neurological stimulation (ENS), a series of exercises performed once daily from day 3 to day 16 of life. ENS is believed to improve a puppy’s ability to handle stress and boost their resistance to disease. In addition to ENS, we handle the puppies daily, ensuring they are exposed to the sights and sounds of a typical household.

To give them a head start on potty training, we introduce potty-specific areas in their whelping box or play area as soon as they are able to walk. As they grow, we provide plenty of outdoor playtime and praise them every time they potty outside.

We also begin crate training at around six weeks of age. Initially, the puppies sleep in kennels with their littermates at night. By seven weeks, we introduce short, independent nap times in individual crates. Our goal is to help them view their crates as a comforting and safe place to rest, which makes the transition to their new home—and being away from their littermates—much easier.

Both Cavaliers and Cavapoos will need to be groomed at adults, so we start introducing them to grooming from a young age. they will be bathed, blow dried, nails trimmed and hair trimmed while in our care.

We have a puppy sling and dog Stroller that we use to socialize the puppies starting around 6 weeks old. This allows us to take them out in public and on walks in a way that is safe for a puppy who is not fully vaccinated yet. They can see, smell and hear all kinds of new things that they would not be exposed to inside our home and property. We also take them on lots of car rides so that they are used to that as well!

By the time your puppy is ready to join your family, they have received loving care and early training to prepare them for a happy, healthy life.
